Advanced (Hooks · Local OCR · Interaction)
Advanced targets power users, offering three sets of lower-level switches: Hooks, Local OCR, and Interaction & Execution. The default settings already cover the vast majority of use; come here when you want to insert custom actions at key moments, recognize text in images offline, or adjust how results are presented and executed. Find it under Settings → Advanced.
1 · Hooks
Hooks let you automatically trigger a local command at key moments in Aureink’s operation, wiring your existing scripts and workflows in.

- Discover and manage — automatically discovers command-type hooks from two sources: user-level (effective globally for you) and project-level (effective with a specific project / workspace), managed together in one place.
- Enable / disable / trust — each hook can be enabled or disabled individually; only hooks you mark as trusted will run.
- View recent runs — review each hook’s recent triggers and runs for troubleshooting.
Hooks can trigger on the following events:

2 · Local OCR
Local OCR recognizes text in images offline on your computer — images don’t go to the cloud. When you need to extract text from screenshots, scans, or photos, the recognition happens entirely on your machine and the content isn’t sent out, making it suitable for images with sensitive information.

Around Local OCR, you can:
- Install — install the local recognition component on first use.
- Check — check whether the component is ready and working properly.
- Repair — try to repair the component when it’s faulty.
- Uninstall — remove it when no longer needed to free up space.
- View logs — view install and run logs for troubleshooting.
3 · Interaction & Execution
This set of switches affects how results are presented and how tasks are executed:
- Dedicated result panel (Artifact) — puts the output in a dedicated result panel, separate from the conversation, for easier focus and reuse.
- Interactive charts and components — charts and components in results can be interactive, rather than a static image.
- Enable enterprise knowledge by default — new conversations bring enterprise knowledge along by default (still subject to Console knowledge base grants), saving a manual step.
- Keep the computer awake while running — prevents the computer from sleeping during task execution, so long tasks aren’t interrupted.
4 · Important notes
Important notes
- Security tip: Hooks run local commands on your computer, so trust only hooks from reliable sources; don’t mark hooks of unknown origin as trusted.
- Permission boundary: the commands a hook runs are also constrained by Security Center; confirm their behavior and purpose before trusting them.
- Information handling: Local OCR recognition happens on your machine and images don’t go to the cloud; enterprise knowledge still follows Console’s grants.
